I really enjoyed my first visit at Mikiya - I went on a Wednesday at 4pm. It was a little empty when I arrived but it grew busier around 6pm. The service was great - they were very attentive and helpful with their recommendations since it was my first time. Everything came out very quick, even the appetizers. I ordered from the Diamond set - so we had the A5 wagyu brisket and many other meats. I couldn’t keep track of which was which because we tried a little bit of everything and I loved every bit of it. We also had the seafood platter - I really liked the shrimp and scallops. The broth I had was the spicy miso and sukiyaki. Out of all the appetizers, my favorite was the yellowtail carpaccio - I had to order 2 of those. After that I also enjoyed the sashimi platter and the wagyu tartare. I forgot to take a photo of the wagyu bone marrow. I was really fascinated by the automatic rice dispenser. I liked all the options in the veggie and sauce bars. Everything was very clean and tidy as well. I loved the drink options - I had the grapefruit jasmine green tea and hot tea. I wish I tried their milk tea. I ended the meal with the pineapple ice cream - it was so refreshing.

Another Chubby group location. Mikiya serves high quality AYCE shabu. Like many of their restaurants, the atmosphere has a clean and dark vibe. The servers are top notch as always. I appreciate the helpful and personal service. The buffet and choices are more limited than Wagyu Factory and the restaurant is a tad smaller. The wagyu quality is fantastic as usual. This is a good choice for AYCE shabu in Irvine.

My wife and I went to Mikiya for time today. Wife joined the Chubby Club earlier in the day. We got the 1st of 3 tiers for $55.00 per person and then got a $7.00 per person Chubby Club discount - so $48 person after discount. The service was PHENOMENAL ! I do not tip 20% very often; but, they earned it. Mikiya is all you can eat high quality meat. Hot pot style - heated broth / soup served in heated pot built into table -- split in two so one table can have 2 different broths. I chose the tomato based broth which was excellent. The 1st tier has 3 meats, which was all we needed (higher tiers have more selections). Plus you get all the appetizers you want. Also, all you can eat selections on a food bar (rice, veggies, sauces). At 1st tier you get choice of a seafood plate, blood marrow beaf bone and another choice I do not remember, 1 of these per person (at higher tier unlimited). Plus self serve soda and juices. ONE NEGATIVE: Do not order any shelled seafood (such as the seafood appetizer with crab legs and claws) because they do not have shell crackers or the tiny spoon needed to get meat out of the shells. Great place for a special high end meal !

Top notch food, service, and ambience. The a5 wagyu was so soft and buttery, sushi and sashimi are actually quite good (better than a lot of the sushi restaurants), drink options are great (calpico, milk tea, grapefruit green tea), self serve station is awesome though I didn’t try any of the raw seafood stuff, broth options are nice, and we didn’t even get to the fried stuff because it was too much food. Soft serve is pretty meh, I’d rather have something tarty than vanilla or chocolate to refresh my taste buds. All in all, absolutely would come back. Not cheap but definitely very high quality!
